Saudi club Al-Ahli dropped a clanger on their social media channels on Tuesday night while announcing the signing of former Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino. The Brazilian ace has joined Al-Ahli after signing a three-year contract with the club following his Anfield exit at the end of last season.
Firmino is undoubtedly the highest-profile signing in Al-Ahli's history and the club were quick to honour his arrival with a series of announcement videos on Twitter. However, it seems as though some more research would have been beneficial after a glaring error was spotted in one of the clips. The video began with a shot of a city skyline alongside the text 'Liverpool' before switching to a plane flying over a motorway sign in gloomy conditions. The weather then quickly changed to reflect the hot and sunny climate of Saudi Arabia, with the text on the sign also switching from 'Liverpool' to 'Jeddah' to symbolise Firmino's move from Merseyside to the Gulf state. However, the skyline shown at the start of the clip was clearly that of London and not Liverpool, with a number of famous landmarks from the capital taking centre stage. The embarrassing mishap was spotted by a number of Twitter users, who poked fun at Al-Ahly for not realising that they had inadvertently used footage of the wrong city.

"The world famous Liverpool gherkin there," joked @leebryanlfc92, while @Salahrnold sarcastically quipped: "I know I haven't been in nine months but Liverpool looks different." @GretnaServices were more scathing in their criticism, though, as they simply wrote: "You utter cretins."Firmino, meanwhile, will be looking to enjoy the next chapter of his career at Al-Ahli after joined the club off the back of eight successful years at Liverpool. He won every available trophy apart from the Europa League during his time at Anfield but will now be tasked with helping Al-Ahly to win the Saudi Pro League ahead of the likes of Al-Ittihad and Al-Nassr next season.
The forward chipped in with 111 goals and 79 assists from 362 appearances at Liverpool and established himself as an important member of Jurgen Klopp's front three alongside Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane. Firmino has followed a number of Premier League stars in moving to Saudi Arabia this summer, with some of the country's leading football clubs having spent millions on boosting their profiles in recent weeks.Cristiano Ronaldo set the trend by joining Al-Nassr towards the end of last year, while the likes of Karim Benzema, N'Golo Kante and Kalidou Koulibaly have also signed for clubs in the Saudi Pro League as of late. Firmino will be teaming up with former Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy at Al-Ahli, with the Senegal international having joined the newly-promoted side last week.
