David De Gea has confirmed he’s leaving Manchester United this summer. The 32-year-old has posted an emotional message on social media revealing he’s now primed to pursue a new challenge. And it brings a glittering spell at Old Trafford to a close, having joined from Atletico Madrid all the way back in 2011.
De Gea’s contract expired earlier in the month, with United previously agreeing a new deal with the Spain international.

United fans have now taken to social media to pay tribute to De Gea.
And manager Erik ten Hag said: “I’m personally grateful for the 25 clean sheets he [De Gea] helped provide last season and his overall contribution on the pitch during my first year at the club.
De Gea joined United back in 2011 as a teenager, arriving as a replacement for club legend Edwin van der Sar.
