Manchester United are expected to make a decision on the future of Mason Greenwood before the 2023/24 Premier League campaign gets underway on August 11, according to reports. The England international forward remains suspended by the Red Devils as he works towards a return to action having not featured for club or country since January 2022 when he played in United's 1-0 Premier League win over West Ham.
Greenwood is training with his own personal coach away from Carrington as he awaits further communication from United officials.
Ten Hag has held various rounds of talks with Greenwood throughout the process and it's thought he would be open to the prospect of working with the forward, who he rates highly.
It has already been disclosed that Greenwood will not be reporting for pre-season training with his colleagues.
Ten Hag's side will then face Lyon at Murrayfield in Scotland before heading to the US to face Arsenal, Wrexham, Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund.
