Harry Kane is not planning on signing a new contract at Tottenham this summer despite being offered a lucrative deal to extend his stay in north London, according to reports. Kane entered into the final year of his existing agreement at the start of this month and has been tipped to seek a move elsewhere over the coming weeks, although chairman Daniel Levy remains staunchly opposed to selling the England skipper as things stand.

The likes of Manchester United and Bayern Munich have been linked with moves for Kane over the course of the summer window, with the German champions having reportedly seen an initial bid rejected last week. The fee offered was said to have been in the region of £60million and it has since been claimed that a new proposal worth upwards of £80m could be tabled in the not-too-distant future.Tottenham, meanwhile, have no intention of selling Kane in spite of his contract situation and have even offered him a significant wage increase in the event he signs a new deal at the club, according to the Evening Standard. However, it is claimed that Kane has no plans to negotiate until the transfer window closes, which is likely to leave Spurs in a state of limbo for the duration of the summer.Kane is reportedly open to leaving Tottenham, either during this window or at the end of next season on a free transfer, although he is yet to rule out the possibility of signing a new deal at some point further down the line. This is currently considered the least likely scenario of the three, but Spurs will be desperate to swing proceedings in their favour before the time comes for Kane to make a binding decision.

It remains to be seen where Kane will end up playing his football by the time the transfer window closes in early September, although it seems likely that he will be forced to stay at Tottenham until his contract runs out next summer. The north Londoners are said to be determined to keep hold of their attacking talisman for as long as possible, with Levy not usually one to be bullied into selling if his demands are not met.Levy is still hoping that Kane can be persuaded to ink a new contract at Hotspur Way and is reportedly banking on Ange Postecoglou to lead a strong start to the new season in a bid to sway the forward's decision. Meanwhile, former Spurs midfielder Jamie O'Hara recently warned that a move elsewhere for Kane this summer could have a catastrophic impact at the club, who he believes could even be scrapping at the bottom of the Premier League table next season.

"Well look, obviously we all hope that he sticks around and signs a new contract because without Harry Kane, I seriously think we could be fighting relegation next season," O'Hara told talkSPORT. "We are that bad without him. We have been solely dependent on Harry Kane to score us goals and do stuff for us.“And I think the lack of ambition that we’ve shown and the players that we’ve signed that haven’t been good enough, if he leaves, we are in big, big trouble. And I feel like he’s got to leave, why would he stay? The guy wants to win something, the guy deserves to win trophies. I just don’t see that changing next season."
