Geoff Shreeves has hinted he could land a new TV role after announcing his shock exit from Sky Sports following 32 years of service with the broadcaster. The reporter, who is synonymous with Sky's Premier League football coverage for his no-nonsense interviews and pitchside insight, rejected the chance to stay in his current job after reportedly turning down a pay cut as he prepares to bid farewell to the company.

Shreeves bows out from Sky immediately, having joined the British broadcasting giant in 1991, ahead of the new 2023-24 season after it was claimed he was offered a reduction in his salary.

"There's an old saying that you always have to know the best time to leave even the greatest party. And that's what my 32 years at Sky have been - the most fantastic party I could ever imagined attending," he told the Daily Mail.

Sky uploaded a graphic to their official Twitter account with confirmation that he would be leaving: "Tunnel reporter Geoff Shreeves is leaving Sky Sports.

Gary Hughes, Sky Sports’ Director of Football, said: "Geoff has been an integral part of the Sky Sports football team and the best tunnel reporter in the business, interviewing the biggest names at the biggest games for over 30 years. Geoff leaves with our sincere thanks and best wishes for the future. As Sir Alex always said, 'well done, Geoff!'"
