Erik ten Hag could be tempting friction between Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro if Manchester United sell captain Harry Maguire this summer. The 30-year-old doesn't appear to feature in Ten Hag's plans, which could leave a significant decision to be made ahead of the new season.

Maguire made just eight Premier League starts last term, joining Cristiano Ronaldo and David de Gea as high-profile stars falling victim to the Dutchman's brutal decision-making.

The report adds that Fernandes is in pole position to replace Maguire as the head of the dressing room after inheriting the responsibility last season while the £80million flop slumped on the bench.
