On Wednesday, Manchester United announced the signing of Mason Mount from Chelsea with the playmaker arriving for an initial fee of £55million. Next up is widely expected to be Andre Onana, who would certainly be a positive addition to Erik ten Hag’s squad. While that’s the case, however, signing a striker should be the priority - but doesn’t appear to be.

Manchester United are a goalkeeper short at present, with David De Gea recently leaving the club on a free transfer.

Last season, their best goalscorer was Marcus Rashford - with the England international bagging 30 goals across all competitions.

Victor Osimhen has been deemed too expensive, with Napoli hellbent on keeping hold of the Nigeria international.

Even without De Gea, United have Dean Henderson. He’s a player worthy of consideration for the No 1 jersey, even if a departure seems inevitable.
