Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney may be riding the crest of a wave with Wrexham right now, but the club's assistant manager is already taking measures to keep people's feet on the ground ahead of the new campaign. The Red Dragons will play in the Football League for the first time in 15 years next season after winning the National League with a record 111 points.

Already attention has turned to the prospect of Phil Parkinson's side doing a double promotion, taking them straight into League One, but the Wrexham gaffer's right-hand-man Steve Parkin is warning strongly against complacency and has indicated that the club will be prepared to dip into the transfer market if necessary to strengthen certain positions.

He said: "Last summer was short because we were involved in the play-offs. It was just nice to get a good break this time. We worked tirelessly for 10 months and it does catch up with you when you get to the end of the season.
