Man Utd takeover: Rio Ferdinand drops major hint that Glazers have made final decision

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has dropped a serious hint that supporters will learn the Glazers' final takeover decision on Tuesday. Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani and Sir Jim Ratcliffe are still waiting to discover whether their respective bids have been successful, while the prospect of the Glazers clinging onto power remains a possibility.

Avram Glazer announced way back in November last year that the club's current ownership were considering 'strategic alternatives'. Seven months down the line and supporters are yet to learn exactly what that will entail as the owners stew over the best course of action.

A chuckling Ferdinand responded: "I was talking to [journalist David] Ornstein as well. Man, he's got good knowledge, but we've also got good sources."

United are yet to make a major signing this summer, although they are primed and in position to swoop for Mason Mount after reaching a £60million agreement with Chelsea.
