Liverpool star Jordan Henderson in 'very advanced' talks to quit club this summer

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson is in ‘very advanced’ talks to join Steven Gerrard at Saudi outfit Al-Ettifaq, a sensational report from France has claimed. Henderson has been linked with a surprise exit and could reportedly be the latest star to head to the Middle East. 

Jurgen Klopp and sporting director Jorg Schmadtke are completing a major overhaul of Liverpool’s midfield after an underwhelming campaign. A report claims that Henderson could be the latest victim, following Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and James Milner out of the door.

But L’Equipe report that Henderson is in ‘very advanced’ talks to complete a shock move to the Dammam-based club. Al-Ettifaq supposedly hope that the lure of Gerrard will tempt the 33-year-old to ditch Anfield. 

"One player becomes the subject, ‘Henderson is this, Henderson is that’, Hendo is not our problem. Never was and never will be. When he is fit and in good shape he played 98 per cent of the games we had.
