Manchester United may have a better fit for the captaincy than Bruno Fernandes

As things stand, it looks increasingly likely that Harry Maguire will lose the captaincy at Manchester United. Bruno Fernandes is the frontrunner to take the armband, having proven his worth to Erik ten Hag last season. However, it can be argued that Casemiro is a better fit for the honour instead given everything he’s achieved throughout his glittering career.

Reports say Maguire is on borrowed time at United and being stripped of the captaincy is likely to push him closer to the exit door.

Many weren’t sure how the Brazil international would fare when he moved from Real Madrid last summer.

After a 6-3 defeat to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium, however, Ten Hag had no choice but to make Casemiro an undroppable.

Speaking recently, Casemiro admitted he liked being a leader at United.

And Casemiro also revealed he loved being in Manchester, too.
