Liverpool have put forward a £170million bid for Paris Saint-Germain ace Kylian Mbappe, according to reports circulating in Spain. Mbappe has just one more year remaining on his PSG contract and has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid this summer.

Mbappe has spent the last six years with PSG after joining the club initially on loan from Monaco in 2017 before making his move permanent a year later in exchange for a £165m transfer fee. The 24-year-old has gone on to bag an incredible 212 goals and 98 assists in 260 games for his current employers and has helped them win five Ligue 1 titles and three French Cups.

PSG will be desperate to avoid losing Mbappe for nothing and have therefore been tipped to cash in on him ahead of the new season. And Real are the frontrunners to land him. But, according to Spanish journalist Edu Aguirre, Liverpool could be set to hijack Real’s transfer plans after presenting an enormous bid to the French team. “Liverpool have made an offer for Mbappe for €200m” he told El Chiringuito TV.

But Reds boss Jurgen Klopp bolstered his frontline with the signings of Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo last season. And Liverpool have not been known to shell out such vast sums of cash for players in the past.
