Arsenal need to sign a prolific goalscoring striker to make up for Gabriel Jesus' shortcomings, claims Simon Jordan. The Gunners are set to take their summer spending to over £200million but the former Crystal Palace chairman believes they need more up top.

Arsenal signed Kai Havertz late last month from Chelsea for a fee worth up to £65m. They are closing in on deals for Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber, with the pair set to undergo medicals on Friday.

Arsenal fell short in their quest to win the Premier League title and Jordan says a top striker would help take them to the next level. He said on talkSPORT: "[Jesus] thrived for a period of time at Arsenal and he's a very decent player.

Jordan added: "We've had this conversation about his mental approach, playing for Brazil and being prepared or wanting to play out wide, rather than playing down the middle which you would think would be better for him because that's where he's going to score more goals.
