Manchester United are edging closer to an agreement with Inter Milan for goalkeeper Andre Onana. Reports claim the Red Devils have submitted a new offer and are now just £4.2million away from securing a deal.

Mason Mount became United's first signing of the summer earlier this week. The England star joined from Chelsea for a fee of up to £60m.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano claims the new bid in total is worth £42.7m (€50m). That includes an initial £38.5m plus a further £4.2m in add-ons - though it was later rejected the same day.

United offered De Gea a new contract on reduced terms, which he accepted. But the club have since withdrawn that offer and wanted the 32-year-old to lower his wages even further.
